"School Talent Shows" | Jan 25 08

I attended my school talent show with high hopes, wondering whether or not if anyone had the obscure talent of juggling flaming batons while balancing on a tight rope and singing to Celine Dion. Much to my dismay, this didn’t happen. The juggling flaming batons and balancing on a tight rope part, anyway.
Since I can’t imagine anyone reading paragraph after paragraph of in depth detail of each act (it’s not like you really want a commentary of the Boys Hiphop team flying across the stage, while performing a jolted dance move, in which it appears as if they performed a Tibetan Yoga move in midair. Do you?), I’d rather be succinct.
- A 4 man band of students, playing songs from Ironmaiden.
- Students dancing the tango.
- A remake of a Broadway song.
- A performance of a song from Grease.
- The Girls dance team bopping to 70’s music.
- “Earth Angel” being performed.
- “The Way I Am” originally sung by Ingrid Michaelson performed by a student.
- A student breakdancing to modern day songs by Chris Brown.
- The Boys Hiphop team literally soaring across the sage in aerial maneuvers.
- Comedic commentaries from the hosts of the talent show.
- One of the hosts ingeniously disguised as a host, but actually part of the the talent show itself. Which is thus, the reason why Celine Dion came to the stage, unannounced.
… and happily ever after, did the school talent show leave a mark on the student body.
If I could play the guitar with dastard expertise, sing to a Broadway song, or break dance to Chris Brown, most definitely, I would join the talent show.
Do you have any talents?
