I’ve been using Wordpress for as long as I can remember ever hitting the webscene and converting from Cutenews. Wordpress plugins, Wordpress themes, Wordpress forums, Wordpress everything! I’ve been through every nick and cranny of what is Wordpress, without knowing the actual PHP and MYSQL components. And that, is my downfall.
This error reared its ugly self when I posted:
WordPress database error: [Table 'mlwebofg_wrdp9.wp_post2cat' doesn't exist]
SELECT cat_ID AS ID, MAX(post_modified) AS last_mod FROM `wp_posts` p LEFT JOIN `wp_post2cat` pc ON p.ID = pc.post_id LEFT JOIN `wp_categories` c ON pc.category_id = c.cat_ID WHERE post_status = ‘publish’ GROUP BY cat_IDWordPress database error: [Table 'mlwebofg_wrdp9.wp_post2cat' doesn't exist]
SELECT cat_ID AS ID, MAX(post_modified) AS last_mod FROM `wp_posts` p LEFT JOIN `wp_post2cat` pc ON p.ID = pc.post_id LEFT JOIN `wp_categories` c ON pc.category_id = c.cat_ID WHERE post_status = ‘publish’ GROUP BY cat_IDWarning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/mlwebofg/public_html/freefall/wordpress/wp-includes/wp-db.php:160) in /home/mlwebofg/public_html/freefall/wordpress/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 391
Not only do I have no direction as to how to interpret this, but, surely, even if I had known where to go, I wouldn’t be able to fix this pickle.
This made me consider other forms of CMS’s, taking Textpattern and ExpressionEngine into thought. This single error doesn’t make me want to convert to other systems, but the whole fact that Wordpress has the tendency to be bloated with unneeded features bothers me.
What CMS do you use, if you do take advantage of one? What do you feel about its features? Pros, cons?
Do not be surprised if I entirely boot Wordpress out of the server, but, also, do not be surprised if I stick to lawful Wordpress ![]()

Well, Austin, I too have experienced several CMS.
Cutenews: I am one of the fortunate few who has never had to experience this one. I am very proud of that, lol.
Wordpress: By far, the best there is. The internet has exploded with options and modifications for it and there’s that saying that goes along with it: “Anything the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve” because Wordpress is so flexible and looks aesthetically nice.
Textpattern: This CMS is very good, with it’s simplicity and CSS flexibility. But, unfortunately, support hasn’t been widespread. It’s a little harder to find plugins as it is for Wordpress. And after a while, you begin to miss the widespread options of Wordpress.
ExpressionEngine: I was very curious about this one. A friend of mine uses it, and she has a VERY beautiful site. Updating and blogging is very simple. The major drawback: you have to pay. The trial version is limited (as far as I know) and it’s on the expensive side.
Any other CMS probably has one thing in common: It doesn’t have as many options as Wordpress. I would suggested Moveable Type, but that’s mainly for large websites with hardcore blogging and CMS management and it’s a pain in the neck to install and use.
I hope this helped! Trust me, other options look very tempting but they flake out after a while. About your coding issue, the only option I could think of is posting it on the Wordpress Help Boards and see who answers (very few do). Looks like you have some database problems. Is one of your databases full?
