"Rambling On RSS and The Simpson’s Movie" | Jul 27 07

After re-reading this entry… I’ve realized how my lack of exclamation marks and CAPITALIZED letters has effected my writing. Be warned.
I never knew how long it actually took to click the little Firefox icon in my Quicklaunch tray, let Google load, then search for my favorite blogs to comment on. Recently, however, I’ve come across the wonders of an RSS Feed (Really Simple Syndication). Personally, I have no idea how an RSS Feed works, or what the difference is between an Atomic RSS Feed, or how to get find updates within an RSS feed. You’d be surprised at how blank my face went when the words “Subscribe To My Feed” flashed across the screen of a blog I came across. Luckily, Eva was handy enough to explain (well… copying and pasting from Wikipedia. It’s quite informative) the workings to me.
I’ve got a feed people! (I use that term loosely…) I’m still trying to wrap my head around the whole concept. This just adds another reason for Cutenews and Haloscan users to go through an intervention in the Wordpress world
Inform me if you’ve got one; I’ll subscribe with my user friendly Omea Reader! This would be a suitable time for the lightning to begin and the maniac-like orchestra to commence from an anonymous source, but I’ll leave that to another day. Back to the secret lab minions, back to the secret lab.
In other news, The Simpson’s Movie has just hit the theaters today according to the convenient Fandango. The familiar “DOH!” of Homer must be so satisfying to those who have seen the movie. I need to get my ticket. It’s a necessity this summer. It’s the icing on the cake. Plus, you just can’t beat Marge’s flexible loaf of blue hair and the pet Spider Pig.
As you can see, I’ve gone too far with the “Link Loving” concept.
Nothing exciting that’s really worthy of noting within this blog other than my still chlorine-infested eyes and a friend stopping by my house after figuring out my address due to “outside” sources that I’m not very aware of, as most agree I’m not the best “street-smart” person you’ve seen treading around the neighborhood. I assure you, however, that I will not be persuaded by a mouth-watering lollipop offered by a stranger tempting my conscious any time soon. Pepper spray and medieval weapons, my friends.
Off to learn some Italian and persuade Dad to look into programs offered at a YMCA that just opened nearby (I NEED ENTERTAINMENT!)
I miss the rain.
Question(s): Watching or planning to watch any movies lately? Or any entertainment that consumes your time would suit as well
includes books, movies, music, you name it.

I use google reader and I’ve long added your site. Feeds are so nice. When you don’t time to bloghop, you can read entries via the feeds. Don’t you just love WP, it has built in feeds. No need to register through feedburner
The Simpsons. My mom hates that show. That’s why I wasn’t able to “fully” watch the episodes when I was young. Those good old days. I’m not sure if I’m watching it. I might get a DVD or VCD though. XP.
To answer your question, I’m planning to watch POTC 3 when it’s out on DVD, Wasn’t able to watch it. Boo

It was almost sure i was going to lear some italian. not that i like it, I prefer french, but here in my city, is kinda hard find french classes, but I don’t think is worth it. I’m going to star college next year, and I would pay just for one semester? It’s not worth it, so I decided wait to see if I can get some french soon. after start college

did I already say how amazing your lay is?
If i didn’t, i just did now

by “outside sources,” perhaps your friend was referring to… a phonebook. i don’t know, if you don’t know how to use a phonebook, you sure don’t have street smarts.
congratulations on the feed! my friend discovered the beauty of them a year ago and went as far as to boycott all of her usual dailies until they got a feed as well (this included me, but when it didn’t seem like i would yield, she did instead).
miss the rain?? that’s madness!

Wow, I must be the only guy on the planet who’s not excited for the Simpsons movie. It just seems like a bunch of cartoon characters doing crazy things — though the spider pig part was cute. Fandango is a movie-goers best friend. XD

RSS… never really bothered.
OH YEAH CAPITALS AND EXCLAMATION MARKS PWN DA BLOGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Except I sometimes overdo it. I want to watch the Simpsons Movie. They’ve been on since forever, but there are too many reruns…… soooo the movie would be something to look forward to =)
-sigh- You’re not alone in the un-street smart thing. Welcome to the clan XD I got lost trying to find my friends house who was “two blocks away on the left with an L shaped letterbox. Number 5″. Confusing, hey?
It’s raining cats and dogs here. There was even thunder! =) Even though I jumped out of my skin when I saw the first flash of lightning ._.

RSS seems very exciting! I would totally utilize that stuff if there were actually a lot of interesting, frequently updated blogs on the net that have feeds. I only know of about 3 that meet all those requirements, ha ha!
Holy moly, that’s kind of scary that there’s an anonymous “outside source” somewhere that leaks out your location to those who inquire about it.. it sounds to me like keeping pepper spray and trusty midieval weapons in stock would indeed be a wise decision.
Thanks for believing so about my sites and the search engines.
I can keep dreaming, however, because I blocked search engines from my content, wuahahaha! Just to keep the big nosed people in my offline life from finding my blog through Google.
The only problem is that I’m too stingy to spend $5 at Blockbuster. What a delimma.
Ah.. and to answer your question, I very passionately desire to watch the movie Soylent Green.
(PS: I bet your ramblings about the meaning of life are just as intensely amusing as your other entries, except in a less humorous way. I feel no fear. >;-D )

Ohh. I just watched the simpson movies yesterday. XD
YEAH!! I was going to use your smilies. But I promise i’ll use them after. :
Oh, and its no more UNLIMITED. But I put it to 2000 characters. That should be enough.
And because of you I had to download cutenews AGAIN! =/ DAMN YOU AUSTIN!!
Oh, and you got smilies.

RSS rules
, congrats on having feed, it’s popular these days!
The Simpson’s Movie came out yesterday here, although we usually get the best films last, still haven’t seen it though.
Good luck on learning italian, and I’m planning on watching Die Hard 4, and see what the fuss about Harry Potter is about. I saw Fantastic 4, and it’s definitely better than the first part.

Lol, feeds…I’m still clueless about what those even are and how those even work. XD I remember I tried researching about them but somehow all the reading online and technical terms just threw me off and I figured I’d just stick with my random browsing and bookmarks. XD I think I have a feed though — an automatic one? Haha, one that Wordpress already has made…or…if everyone has one automatically there for them…I still don’t know! It had the “RSS Feed” button before on one of my themes, but I figured it wasn’t important and just took it out. ^^;;
The Simpson’s movie…I somewhat want to see it. But I still haven’t seen Harry Potter yet so my desire to watch HP is overpowering my desire to watch…well, anything else. =P
Yay Italian! Haha, I remember I had fun in that class in high school, but then again, I was a junior stuck in an Italian 1 class with a bunch of freshmen…I had fun eating in the class. I always used the excuse that I was chewing if the teacher called on me to demonstrate how to say a word or read something out of the textbook. =P

Good luck with your Italian! I took Italian I when I was a senior in high school. I regret not being able to take it on my freshman year, because I absolutely adored it! I learned a lot, and even won second place at a foreign language poetry recital contest.

i want to see the simpsons movie! not as bad as i wanted to see POTC 3, but i really want to see it lol.
i so do not know how feeds work. i am a bit clueless about it. i am going to have to go read your friends explanation, it probably will do me some good. and wow @ the lollipop. random much? and if someone offered me a lollipop and tried to do me harm, i would stab em with my keys in their eye. a bit extreme, but i have no other type of weapon lol.
