"Combustion of Epic Pyro-Like Proportions" | Jul 5 07
Categorized in Uncategorized.

I just felt like blogging. I don’t know, there’s just an instantaneous need to blog when I have internet access, my dear Songbird, and when no ones on MSN. And there you go ladies and gentlemen, another blog shall be executed by me, Austin… “that one odd blogger…”
Speaking of blogging, I’ve come across a gain of three new links in the past few days. I’m not talking about Meebo, Websoup, or Osalt, (however, convenient they may be) but I’m talking about a gain in my snazzy litte drop down menu you can see above. Check out the action-packed Morgan, the monsoon-counting Kris, and the PHP master Tina. Click away! Click away I say! (: A new vocabulary I need desperately… I do know. My verbs are sucking lately.
The other night, the night of July 4th, my brother, Billy, and I had deployed our plan of setting off fireworks at sporadic moments beginning at exactly 8:43 PM. You see, Billy had charmingly persuaded my parents and relatives to buy HEAP LOADS of Fireworks for the celebration of dear old America. I would highly disagree he did that for the sake of commemorating America, at all… I believe he was in it for the flames, sparks, and the possibility of missing ligaments. I can’t blame him though.
It was cool. We started lighting them one by one in front of garage, from smallest to largest. They ranged from tiny little rockets could that packed a punch with the piercing sound of a banshee to the those gigantic candle-like fountains that created a short stream of sparks. However, our neighbors down the street completely beat us, with those ILLEGAL fireworks you can only find at Indian reservations that soar up into the air and go KABOOM! They created an astounding display of blooms in the air, much better than our bargain assortment of LEGAL fireworks. At the end of it all, my brother and I ended up with a pile of smelly fireworks, a shattered candle holder (the thing was gonna be a BONFIRE I tell you!), and a seizure-like feeling, as if we were going to convulse any minute. What a night =)
To end it all off, we had a chance to hose off the ash on our street. We used that thing with expertise, twisting the nozzle to our water formation desire. The result: two pyro-like brothers soaking wet at 11 PM dancing under the artificial rain with parents watching and yelling,”Billy! Put your shoes back on!” I love that hose. It’s so useful on those days when temperatures reach a record-breaking 117 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as those nights where cleaning the ash off our curb was just necessary.
Question: Do anything with FIRE lately?

That’s what blogging is about, and will definitely check those links.
lol at your brother, you just have to accept the fact he did it for America, not just because of the fireworks
.
Your must be cookin’ in that heat?
Jul Fri 07 at 12:46 am , Sylvia Says:
Hey if you feel the need to blog, blog away. Who cares if its irrelevant or insignificant, it’s your blog. I say blog it up buddy! lol
Jul Fri 07 at 2:09 am , Marie Claire Says:
I wish that I felt like blogging more often! :p
Seems like you had a crazy 4th of July night! The water coming from the hose must have felt great in that heat
Jul Fri 07 at 2:36 am , morgan Says:
Eeek. Fahrenheit. -insert morgan’s knowledge on temperature here, she needs it- I do celsius XD
Action packed Morgan? I like it (: Nah I haven’t done anything with fire. Except maybe cook and nearly burn the whole kitchen to crisp. I’m hopeless like that, you know?
Woah. High pressure hoses have been banned here. They’re the most fun to play with though
Jul Fri 07 at 2:37 am , morgan Says:
OMG where did my comment go~!!!!
Jul Fri 07 at 2:38 am , morgan Says:
Hmm, I think it was the arrow. I’ll stop spamming you now XD sorry bout that.
Jul Fri 07 at 8:23 am , tina Says:
holy shit. 117 degrees? It’s currently 90 here, and I am dying. Heat makes me SUPER grumpy :X I think the most we had last summer was 110.
Oregon has some real cruddy fireworks though, and Washington (Not DC though :x. Haven’t been to DC yet) is a lot more lenient. So one of our friends has a cabin up in Washington and we’re gonna shoot off the cool fireworks that are illegal here but legal there next year
They fined each person here $100 for EACH illegal firework they had. So if you had 10, that’s $1000

Cute bird Austen.
No ones on MSN?! I thought a famous person like you should have lots of people signing on? I guess I was wrong… xP They all seem preety talented.
Your verbs dont suck. xP Just flip threw the dictionary everyday and you’ll get new VERBS.
Thats what I do but not everyday… once in a while.. I found a word called “Stakhanovite”.
COOL eh? Stakhanovite. xD
He’s rather intresting in your blog..
I wish I could be their to see those awesome fireworks!! I wanna be your neighbor that DOSENT beat you!
Water is so great eh?
Your brother is so cool!!
From,
The Stakhanovite.

Sounds like you had a lot of fun on your 4th of July. Unfortunately, I was stuck at work so I didn’t really get to celebrate it. You and your brother are quite the pyromaniacs. Although I can’t really blame you, fire can be fun to play with. Anyway, Happy Belated 4th of July, it sure sounds like you had one.
Jul Fri 07 at 9:43 am , Alex Says:
I always have a few days where I blog like crazy, and then they slowly slow down, until I haven’t blogged in a month.
The crazy blogging cycles of Alex. Fireworks were banned in California (at least, where I live). We never have any fun.
There were some people who blasted illegal fireworks though.
Jul Fri 07 at 11:03 am , Alyssa Says:
Damnnnn. Sounds like you had a sick 4th of July!!! I did nothing at all. lmao But nice to know you and bro had a good time with those fireworks and the hose. lol Thats crazy about yoru neighbors with those huge ass (illegal) fireworks. Pshhhh. At least you guys had some class and actually used legal ones. lol Anyways. Take care!
Jul Fri 07 at 12:48 pm , Kris Says:
Nothing wrong with a little blogging when there’s no one to talk to. =P
Ah, fireworks. My family never buys them, legal or illegal, we just watch them. I usually have a few neighbors though, who love driving down to Mexico, collecting illegal ones all year round, and saving them for the summer. Lots of fun. =)
Jul Fri 07 at 1:21 pm , Natasha Says:
Ohh your not even as bad as my father, whenever he hears or see fireworks he goes back to his teenage years.. He LOVES buying illegal fireworks and lights him off at random times.. and I mean very random.. like.. A couple days before Christmas?! hehe. He’s so cute!
Would have loved to see your little show though, fireworks are pretty x)
I didn’t do anything with fire.. except in the bedroom.. lmao, just kiddinggg.
Jul Fri 07 at 1:22 pm , Natasha Says:
Oh and that Germany guy for my prom date.. I’m just talented.. hehe.
Jul Fri 07 at 7:27 pm , Supergirl Says:
Gahhhh, fireworks scares me. I think it’s probably from when I was 7 or something and I held onto a sparkler or something and it nearly killed me. o.0 Bad bad memories, lol.
Lol, dances with rain should be your new name.
I wish I got hosed down, it’s so hawwttttt where I live, and there’s hardly any rain coming through now.
Jul Fri 07 at 9:11 pm , Yin Says:
Same!! I wanna go catch the concert really really badly!! Its only New York. I guess.. go here: http://liveearth.msn.com/concerts/US
Nope I didn’t move host.
Still the same host.
here: bravenet.com
Yup, its in New York.
Jul Sat 07 at 7:26 am , Kris Says:
Since you’re special, I am going to comment here even though I’m dead tired.
Oh, a plug. Hahaha. As I mentioned in your previous entry, we don’t have those fireworks during independence day(more of like bunch of protests the whole day…Haha)… but we have it on new year and when you go to local news channel, you’ll see them reporting about people who blasted their own hands with fireworks — legal and illegal. 0_o Morbid…. And oh, fires are common… people here are too clumsy.
But fireworks are nice when they’re in the sky..especially the “colored’ ones.
Jesus…since I’m not used to read temperature in Fahrenheit, I had to convert it to Celsius. And boy, 117 is too warm..that’s like 47 degrees Celsius. Having grown up on the “mountains”, I’m not acquainted to heat… I guess I’m humid-weather intolerant. I could even barely stand twenty eight degrees Celsius(82 degrees Fahrenheit.
I have MSN. I barely sign in though. I’m more of a YM person since it’s more popular here. I don’t think MSN is that popular. Email me to get it if you want. XP
Fire. Needed fire when cooking. XP

Man, now I wish I had bought some fireworks this year. I was just a watcher…:( Next year, I’m going to find some illegals and have the best firework show on the street!!!!
Jul Sat 07 at 1:18 pm , Tonya Says:
Sounds fun, didn’t do anything on the 4th of July. The only thing I’ve done with fire would have to be lighting a candle :-s
PS! I feel sorry for you in Nevada? ha ha 117?!
joking.

Firstly thanks for the nice comment
you asked me about RSS so here is a definition from god ol’ wikipedia
RSS (which, in its latest format, stands for “Really Simple Syndication”) is a family of web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a “feed,” “web feed,” or “channel,” contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with their favorite web sites in an automated manner that’s easier than checking them manually.
RSS content can be read using software called a “feed reader” or an “aggregator.” The user subscribes to a feed by entering the feed’s link into the reader or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The reader checks the user’s subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates that it finds.
The initials “RSS” are used to refer to the following formats:
* Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)
* RDF Site Summary (RSS 1.0 and RSS 0.90)
* Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91)
RSS formats are specified using XML, a generic specification for the creation of data formats.
It’s basically a easy way to receive news updates from websites you subscribe to.
Cheers,
Eva

that is so cool that you’ve heard of meebo! I use it everyday and sometimes I wonder if it’s actually used by other people, haha.
your fourth of July sounded awesome! I spent it trying half-heartedly to find a decent special on TV about the capital city while being sick no fun.
“Billy put your shoes back on” reminds me of Franz Ferdinand’s “Eleanor, put your boots back on.” weird. and about fire, I haven’t done anything recently but one time I did manage to *accidentally* set a paper towel on fire. ^_^

Blogging is the best, that is why we’re all here right now letting you regale us with your tales.
Ehh, I’m not sure how many Americans really fall back on that whole commemorating America thing either. Many seem to enjoy the fireworks as much as your brother, which is exactly why we had a bonfire night on the 4th. Yay fire.
Jul Sun 07 at 5:19 am , Jay Says:
yeah. i know
it was so exciting. at first i didn’t get it, but then i got really into the game.
Jul Sun 07 at 6:20 am , Eilidh Says:
Hehe, your fourth of July sounds so fun, hehe, I can imagine getting to set off your own fireworks would be really cool - I think I’d be in it for the cool sparks too
But sorry you got beaten by the people with the illegal fireworks though
Jul Sun 07 at 7:13 am , Sheryl Says:
we’re almost the same! i also wanted to blog like everyday, but i just couldn’t find the time. xD
anyway.. i’ll check those links out!
we don’t celebrate independence day on the 4th though… ours is on june 12. gawd, i blurt that out to people whose blog speaks about july 4th!
so, glad to hear you had a great time with the fireworks! those pictures are awesome!
Jul Sun 07 at 7:20 am , Tai Says:
Sounds like you had a fun fourth of july! I love fireworks they make me feel all giddy inside, like a little kid, hah. Illegal fireworks are the best, i’m sorry. They’re just bigger and better and look so pretty in the nightsky. Me and my sister always make sure we buy a box full for bonfire night; thats like your fourth of july for us English people. [I think]
Anyway i’ve haven’t done anything with fire lately, except cook some rice 45 minutes ago, heh. I’m babbling ♥ take care.
Jul Sun 07 at 10:23 am , Evelien Says:
It’s always fun to light up some fireworks =)

I’ll check out those sites in a min. Just gonna finish this comment…y’know
Haha, happy belated 4th of july! and glad you and yoru brother had fun :] i didn’t do anything this year (for Canada day, because I’m Canadian) because i had no one =[ haha they went all out on vacations and everything. suckers. xD
nope, nothing with fire. lucky you.
Jul Sun 07 at 11:57 am , Thao Says:
omgosh o.o Maybe there might be a corpse in the basement? jees, now I really don’t want to move into that house, you know they only showed me my room, I didn’t see the kitchen, the backyard, and nonetheless the BATHROOM! I’m still wondering if there is one? hah.
Your fireworks experience reminds me of my brother, the hose part, not the legal fireworks, (but my dad did sneak in fireworks when your not suppose to have fireworks in our neighborhood.) I would’ve started lighting the fireworks all at once, but that’s just me.
Jul Sun 07 at 2:04 pm , Deborah Says:

Jul Sun 07 at 7:32 pm , Morgan Says:
Yay for explosives and fire!
My cousins and I went crazy with the fireworks too, but we didn’t get to use them all because my grandma kept complaining that there was too much smoke. ¬_¬
117 degrees F!?! And I thought that 96 degrees was bad. x_x
Jul Sun 07 at 9:04 pm , Lily Says:
Thanks for the comment.
I’ve never lit up fireworks but i think some of my neighbours have. Sounds like you had fun though.
I hope you get more of this “instantaneous need” to blog. I enjoy reading your blog.
Jul Mon 07 at 2:27 am , Dana Says:
117 degrees sounds like alot. Isn’t that like… 40+ something degrees celsius? I think it’s hot here when it’s 28 degrees celsius
Sounds like 4th of july was fun. We never celebrate out Independance day like that here in Finland.

Hey there! Lovely, lovely layout!
Hmm…your 4th sounds so exciting! Haha, I love your descriptions…especially of your neighbors. Like two days ago my neighbors decided that it was still July 4th; not July 7th. That was rather amusing. Anyways, take care!
Jul Mon 07 at 2:55 pm , Sarah Says:
An irrelevant comment? I think not. Oho, I think so!
Hello there ‘big hypocrite’. Haha. Remember? From the comment you left on my blog… err maybe not then.
You were setting off fireworks? I’m assuming for American Independence Day? Which must mean that you’re American! Well howdy there my fine American partner, yee haw? Yes I know that all Americans aren’t cowboys/from Texas. Though you might be for all I know… I shall have to check out your about me section as soon as I’ve posted this comment.
Hmm, does the fire in the oven count? If so, I’ve made jam buns. I would give you one, but you live in America, so it’d be kinda hard.
Wow irrelevant comment indeed! Haha xox
